DISCOVERING YOUR VALUE

Discovering Your Value is an evidence-informed, prevention and early-intervention program designed to equip youth with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to recognize unhealthy dynamics, reduce vulnerability, and make safe, informed choices. Through age-appropriate, trauma-informed education, students explore identity, self-worth, healthy relationships, boundaries, and risk factors that can lead to exploitation.

This  8-week curriculum addresses the cultural devaluation of women and identifies topics such as: Relationship, Self-Image, Cultural Influences, Sexual Integrity, Dreams/Future and more. By targeting root issues that are influential of many plaguing issues (including sexual abuse, teen pregnancy, and early dropout), we are confident that participants will walk away empowered to reevaluate and make positive choices.

ABOUT THE LEARNING SYSTEM

“Discovering Your Value” is a fun, interactive learning system developed by Present Age Ministries and a team of Subject Matter Experts. The purpose of DYV is to provide prevention and early intervention to female adolescents. The Learning System encourages players to interact by answering questions, evaluate scenarios and engage in team challenges to accumulate game incentives. With OVER-SIZED pieces, participants move around the board and collaborate to answer tough questions, formulate solution strategies, uncover strengths and share best practices.

The curriculum is delivered in engaging, interactive sessions and is aligned with developmental stages and educational standards. It integrates real-world scenarios, survivor-informed insights, and practical tools that empower students to identify warning signs, seek trusted help, and understand their inherent value.

TRAIN-THE-TRAINER MODEL

The Discovering Your Value curriculum was intentionally developed using a train-the-trainer model, allowing agencies and institutions to implement the program with fidelity while adapting it to their unique environments. Comprehensive facilitator training, detailed lesson plans, and implementation guides equip educators, advocates, and professionals to confidently deliver the curriculum without ongoing dependence on external staff. As a result, Discovering Your Value is already being implemented across a wide range of settings—including public school systems, child advocacy centers, human trafficking–specific agencies, and other community-based organizations—creating scalable, sustainable prevention impact. Designed for replication and cross-sector use, the curriculum meets agencies where they are, making it an effective solution for communities seeking to strengthen prevention efforts through trusted local leaders.
