New Thrift Shop Boutique in Concord to Support Victims of Human Trafficking

CONCORD, N.C. — Soon you’ll be able to shop for second-hand items while supporting a good cause at the same time.

Restored things restoring lives is the motto at Restoration Market, a thrift shop boutique that opens Thursday at 74 Spring Street in Concord.

The shop offers customers and volunteers the chance to make a difference in their community.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With January being National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, advocates and law enforcement officials are hoping to shed light on what they say can be a dark topic with many misconceptions surrounding it.

For example, the term “human trafficking” might bring about mental images of a person bound and hidden away, or moved across state or country boundaries, like a commodity. The mental image might also entail the person being subject to providing sexual services for money.
