How do I become a Volunteer?
We’re so glad you’re interested in joining our mission to support survivors and raise awareness around human trafficking. Becoming a volunteer is a meaningful journey—and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Here’s how to get started:
-
Attend an Information Session: Your first step is to join one of our info sessions, held the 3rd Thursday of each month, where you’ll learn the basics of human trafficking and gain a deeper understanding of the population we serve. During this information session, you will also learn about the Volunteer Pathways available at Present Age.
-
Explore Volunteer Pathways” Watch short videos on each of our Volunteer Pathways (see below) to discover where your skills and interests align best.
-
Complete Additional Training (if needed): Some roles require extra training specific to the pathway you choose. We’ll let you know what’s needed to prepare you for your role.
-
Submit Required Paperwork: This includes filling out volunteer forms and completing background checks to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.
-
Get Plugged In: Once everything is complete, you’ll be connected with the team and ready to start making a difference.
Please note: The timeline and requirements to begin volunteering vary by pathway. For roles involving direct work with clients, the onboarding process typically takes 4–6 months to ensure thorough preparation and alignment with our values.
PATHWAYS to SERVE
Cultivating conversation. Igniting a movement. Protecting our community.
Not In My City is more than a slogan—it’s a collective stand. It is a citywide movement that invites everyday people, leaders, and organizations to recognize the realities of trafficking and boldly declare that exploitation has no place here. By sparking honest conversations, equipping our community with awareness, and calling people into action, Not In My City transforms passive concern into purposeful resistance.
Together, we are building a culture of protection, hope, and vigilance—one where every child is valued, every neighbor is informed, and every voice matters. When we wear it, speak it, and live it, we move one step closer to a city where trafficking cannot thrive.
Because when a community stands united, freedom wins.
